New depot bucks economic trend
Worcester based WHC Hire Services is delighted to announce the opening of a new, state-of-the-art depot in Tewkesbury. The opening comes after some 18 months of site development and over £2 million of investment. The result is a purpose designed centre for the hire of plant and tool equipment which incorporates a specialist vibration and noise testing facility.

The site at Alexander Way was bought in August 2009 thanks to its convenient business park location just off the A46 and M5 which provides excellent access for customers. The company has invested heavily in premium equipment for the new depot with brands including JCB, Thwaites, Makita, Camon Garden Machinery and a host of other machinery suppliers. A wide range of DIY and gardening equipment will also be available for hire including wallpaper strippers, heating and drying, carpet cleaners, drills, dehumidifiers, strimmers, hedgecutters, blowers to mention a few.
Experienced employees have been recruited along with 3 apprentices to provide the superior level of service that WHC Hire Services is renowned for. The company prides itself on its customer service policy which pays particular attention to Health and Safety issues – leaving the customer free to focus on the job they need to do. In fact, such is the attention to Health and Safety that WHC won two major awards in 2011 for its progressive policies; a silver award in the prestigious RoSPA Occupational Health and Safety Awards and the industry’s own Hire Awards of Excellence for Health and Safety management.
The awards became the latest in a collection of achievements throughout 2009 and 2010, some of which were gained jointly with Severn Trent Water for progressive noise and vibration testing services, which will also be available to customers in Tewkesbury.
James Clutterbuck is the Director of WHC Services;
“We’re delighted that we’ve been able to open up this second depot in Tewkesbury. At a time when many companies are scaling down we have taken the decision to invest and expand and we are happy that we found the perfect spot here to build our new premises. We look forward to welcoming our new customers”.
WHC Hire Services has also developed a patented Track Lock system which safely
secures machines on to the back of trailers – this has proved its worth time and time again and will also be available for hire at the new depot.
On the 16th November this year our Area Hire Manager, Dave Creswell had the opportunity to give a presentation of our Track Lock System at the annual Plant and Equipment Management Innovation Conference - PEMIC event which was held at Birmingham City University, of which we were also thrilled to be sponsors.
The Awards Gala Evening finished off the day with its International Awards for Excellence - presentation ceremony where James Clutterbuck Director of WHC received an award for Entrepreneur and innovation.
